posted May 26, 2020, 8:34 AM by Julie Shue

On Thursday May 28, we will be celebrating our Seniors’ Last Drive.  This event will allow us to celebrate our seniors’ accomplishments as well as distribute their diplomas and pictures.  We will begin at 3:00 pm in the Beckwood Parking lot located right next to the Paragon Parking lot on Lake Ave.  Here we will organize our students and families to begin the procession for our Seniors’ Last drive.  Students and families will need to remain in their cars.  At the end of the procession, we will hand out the students diplomas as they will remain in their cars.  We will practice all safety measures to ensure social distancing.  This event is for graduates and their families only and we must adhere to the 1 car per graduate guidelines.  Students and Families should wear masks.  Students will not be allowed to reassemble on school grounds after they receive their diplomas.  There will be no police escort; students and families must follow the rules of the roads including stop lights, stop signs, etc.  Upon completion of the Seniors’ Last Drive, our families are encouraged to celebrate our virtual broadcast of Paragon/Dutch Clark’s Virtual Graduation Ceremony.  At 6:00 pm on Thursday May 28, The Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be broadcast on Vimeo at vimeo.com/District60 and Facebook Live at fb.com/pueblodistrict60.  Thank you and be safe.

Principal Mestas' announcement for the graduating class of 2020.
On Tuesday May 12, 2020 at 1p.m. we will be videotaping the confirmation of diplomas portion of our virtual graduation at the Paragon campus.  This will include students dressed in their cap and gown “walking” and receiving their diploma.  A professional photographer will also be on hand to take pictures of each graduate. In order to practice social distancing, students will be reporting in small groups to Paragon's main entrance at 1:00 pm on Tuesday May 12, for approximately one hour.  Only graduating members of the class of 2020 will be allowed in the building on May 12.  There will be no congregating allowed in the parking lot, inside or outside of the school at any time during the day and for their safety, students will need to leave the campus promptly when finished. This message and specific schedule with each graduate's reporting time (alphabetical by last name) will be posted on the school website and Facebook later this week.  Seniors will be expected to arrive at the main entrance of our school prepared to be filmed.  We will hand out a cap and gown at their assigned time to be used for filming.  If the student has ordered his or her own cap and gown it  may be worn for filming. Each student will be given a tassel that is his or hers to keep after filming.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly. We also need a professional quality photo for each student this week. We are able to provide those free of charge if needed. Email julie.shue@pueblocityschools.us for an appointment. There are times available this week. Once again, please save the date: Tuesday, May 12 for Paragon's videotaping of the conferring of diplomas portion of our virtual graduation.  Until then, stay safe and we will see you all next week.

Weekly Principal Announcements 3/2020

posted Mar 20, 2020, 8:46 PM by Julie Shue

Hello Paragon/Dutch Clark Families,

This is Principal Mestas with an important message.  As you know, we are experiencing a unique event that will require us all to come together and support each other like never before.  As we work to adhere to social distancing recommendations and school closures, it is important for us to utilize technology in education.  Students, your teachers have sent out google classroom invites to your district student email, that will allow you to participate in daily communication essential to your success.  Please make sure to accept the invite so that you have access to these resources.  In addition to utilizing google classroom for communication, we will continue to utilize APEX announcements, REMIND, Email and cell phone communication (Texts and Voice Calls).  We will also update our website www.paragon.pueblocityschools.us with resources and updates that will support you on your journey to graduation.  As a reminder, online instruction will officially begin on March 30th.  Please note, D60 is developing a plan to assist high school students who may not have access to an electronic device or the Internet.  Details will be shared as soon as they are available.  Be Safe, Be Well, and have a great Spring Break.
